Each year volunteers participate in more than 40 different STEM activities around the area; helping at STEM events, participating in career fairs, and visiting classrooms to talk to students about engineering. In 2022, Chicago Engineers Foundation impacted more than 1,500 K-12 students thanks to our amazing volunteers!
No experience is necessary, and training/resources are provided to each volunteer.
Union League Boys and Girls Club K-2 STEM Club
Summary: This is a pilot program where our volunteers will partner with a high school group to lead weekly play-based STEM activities with children ages 5 to 8 at the ULBGC Club One in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood. We are looking for volunteers who would like to regularly participate in this activity, either bi-weekly or monthly.
Chicago Association of Student Engineers VIRTUAL Career Presentations

Summary: The Chicago Association of Student Engineers (CASE) is a student-founded, student-led group of high school students interested in engineering careers. They host VIRTUAL career presentations with engineering professionals on Saturday mornings with the featured speaker discussing their career experiences for approximately 1 hour.
Chicago Public Schools’ Job Sites Days

Summary: CPS is recruiting participants for workplace site visits for pre-engineering students. Site visits are in-person activities where students spend a day visiting a workplace to learn about the business, meet employees, ask questions, and observe work in progress. Pre-engineering classes from Schurz High School, Foreman Career Academy, and North-Grand High School are currently seeking workplaces. Dates are flexible. Each class has approximately 20 students and site visits are typically from 10am through 1pm with a scheduled lunch. All activities are based in the city of Chicago.
