Activities:
- K-12 Outreach: Engineering professionals visit K-12 student groups to inspire young minds and also volunteer to participate in youth STEM events.
- Corporate or Site Tours: Does your company work in the engineering sector? Your team can host a tour to show students what your engineers do on a daily basis.
- Incentive Award Reviews: Each Spring, volunteers review scholarship applications, helping to determine the next class of Incentive Award recipients.
- Career Development: Engineers and other professionals offer their time and expertise during networking events, mentoring discussions, resume evaluations, and mock interview activities with high school and college students.
- Leadership and Support Opportunities: Individuals serve on various working committees, assist with events, and hold positions on the Board of Directors or Associate Council.
Volunteers come from a variety of professional backgrounds. They include engineers, attorneys, retirees, former award recipients, Union League Club members, and others who all generously give their time and talents to inspire the next generation of engineers. There is no experience required to volunteer and training is provided for all activities.
Volunteer opportunities are available during the day and evening hours, plus some weekend activities. Activities are mainly in-person, with a select number of virtual opportunities too.
