CEF Presents Inaugural Student Success Networking Event

More than thirty guests joined Chicago Engineers’ Foundation leaders and volunteers for a professional networking event geared towards CEF’s present and past Incentive Award recipients.  The event was held at TechNexus in Chicago, a collaborative technology innovation company.  Award recipients and young professionals toured the facility, participated in networking activities, and each student received their own personalized business cards and headshots to start building their professional presence as they continue to work towards their engineering career goals.

Representatives from UpKey, a career development online resource for students, the Illinois Technology Association, and TechNexus were on hand to network with the students and introduce their student-centered programming.  This reception was part of CEF’s career development programming, an initiative started in 2018.  Career development activities are designed for CEF award recipients to further prepare them for their engineering careers.  Activities are held throughout the year to assist award recipients with resume development, internship placement, and other professional needs.  Special thanks to John Alberts who helped secure a grant from the Constellation Community Champions program for the networking reception.
