CEF Presents the 2024 Engineering Focus Luncheon
On February 20th, Chicago Engineers’ Foundation presented the Engineering Focus Luncheon.
Engineering Focus is the annual kick-off to National Engineers Week in Chicago. This year’s luncheon at the Union League Club of Chicago was an exciting opportunity for professionals, educators, and students to be inspired and celebrate the future of engineering.
Chicago Engineers’ Foundation President Michael Driscoll welcomed more than 100 guests to the event. The focus of this year’s luncheon was the present and future of aviation in Chicago.
Objectives
- Understand the Chicago aviation sector.
- Learn about O’Hare and Midway and legacy projects benefiting Chicago and passengers utilizing each airport.
- Hear strategies to encourage students to look towards STEM and engineering career paths.
- Celebrate the future of engineering!

In addition to the engaging keynote presentation about the past, present, and future of aviation in Chicago, guests learned about the Department of Aviation’s programming to inspire and engage young people, and the Chicago Engineers’ Foundation student programs, plus ways to involved to help students learn about STEM and engineering career paths.
