CEF Celebrates National Engineers Week 2020

The week of February 16th through 22nd is National Engineers’ Week.  From the inaugural Engineering Focus luncheon, to classroom visits and volunteer opportunities across Chicago, Chicago Engineers Foundation (CEF) is celebrating engineers and inspiring students to explore engineering careers.

The Engineering Focus luncheon took place on February 17, 2020 as a kickoff to EWeek in Chicago.  Michelle Blaise, Senior Vice President of Technical Services at ComEd served as the keynote speaker to discuss the importance of diversity in widening the focus of the engineering sector.  More than 130 guests joined CEF for this inaugural Engineers Week event.

Throughout the week, CEF volunteers are visiting pre-engineering classrooms at Chicago Public Schools throughout Chicago to speak with students about engineering concepts and their engineering careers.  During the week, engineering professionals will visit more than a dozen high school classrooms, impacting more than 300 students.

CEF volunteers will end the week at the Chicago Architecture Center’s annual Engineering Fest, facilitating fun and engaging activities for future engineers of all ages.

Happy Engineers Week from Chicago Engineers Foundation!
